Chef Peter from Weebee's restaurant in Bozeman, Montana shared his famous habanero applesauce recipe with us during our visit to this fabulous establishment. This a great compliment to any chicken or pork dish.
- Ingredients:
- 1 habanero pepper; finely chopped
- 2 cups sugar
- 1 qt of water
- 4 cups peeled Granny Smith apples; diced
- 1/2 cinnamon stick
- juice of 1 lime
- Directions:
- Combine all ingredients in a medium saucepan & cook 20-30 minutes until thick.
- Remove cinnamon stick, transfer to food processor & puree' for 15-30 seconds.
- Add a dash of sea salt & fresh black pepper to taste.
