Basil Pesto Sauce

The next time your recipe calls for basil pesto sauce, impress your guests with this quick & simple version.

  • Ingredients:
    1. 4 cloves garlic; whole
    2. 1 tsp sea salt
    3. 2 Tbsp fresh basil; finely chopped
    4. 1/4 cup pine nuts; unsalted
    5. 1 cup extra-virgin olive oil
    6. 1/2 cup parmesan reggiano
    7. 1 Tbsp romano cheese
    8. 1/4 cup unsalted butter; softened
  • Directions:
    1. Combine all ingredients in a food processor, except butter & cheese.
    2. Pulse until smooth.
    3. Add in softened butter & cheese, pulse again until smooth again.
    4. Use rubber spatula to transfer to a small bowl.
    5. Use right away or cover, seal & refrigerate until ready to use.
