The next time your recipe calls for basil pesto sauce, impress your guests with this quick & simple version.
- Ingredients:
- 4 cloves garlic; whole
- 1 tsp sea salt
- 2 Tbsp fresh basil; finely chopped
- 1/4 cup pine nuts; unsalted
- 1 cup extra-virgin olive oil
- 1/2 cup parmesan reggiano
- 1 Tbsp romano cheese
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter; softened
- Directions:
- Combine all ingredients in a food processor, except butter & cheese.
- Pulse until smooth.
- Add in softened butter & cheese, pulse again until smooth again.
- Use rubber spatula to transfer to a small bowl.
- Use right away or cover, seal & refrigerate until ready to use.
