Broccoli & garlic is such an easy way to add delicious flavor to most any dish. Try this Broccoli & Sausage recipe the next time you're in the mood for a change from the ordinary.
- Ingredients:
- 1 pkg pasta shells (your favorite style)
- 1 lb broccoli florets
- 1 pkg turkey sausage; Italian style
- 2 Tbsp extra-virgin olive oil
- 4 cloves garlic; finely chopped
- sea salt & black pepper; pinch of each
- 2 cups sliced mushrooms is also an optional ingredient
- Directions:
- Cook pasta according to package instructions, rinse, drain & set aside in large bowl.
- Place broccoli in a separate medium saucepan and simmer on low heat, cooking it al dente style.
- Meanwhile add garlic & olive oil to a large saute pan & heat on medium high burner until garlic is light brown.
- Remove turkey sausage from casing and add to pan with garlic, olive oil, & mushrooms stirring turkey to crumble.
- Once turkey is cooked all the way through, combine all ingredients in large mixing bowl with pasta, stir well & serve.
